Road Trip 2015

Went on a Scrap Booking road trip on the North Side of Brisbane with friend and fellow
Scrap booker Julie and did we have fun. A great start to the new year, Julie introduced me to Toni at
Tj,s scrappin with style on the Southside with their 50% off sale , then next stop Daisy Chain at Nambour another shop that gave us a nice discount thanks guys, and we saw our childhood pass by while driving past the Big Pineapple after that we decided to stop and have a little lunch

Have a look at the size of this coffee machine, mmmm did it smell nice there and great food to, nice people with  great service. Our next stop was Arnolds Scrapbook & Craft Supplies at Rothwell, that was a quick visit but did we find some nice things, OWL stamps had to have them......
There was only enough time to fit one more in before heading home and we decided on The Stamp Trap being that we just love stamps.
Small shop but big discount on our Judikins stamps 40% off , The owner was fantastic and even stayed open a little after hrs for us p.s she wasn,t disappointed, p.s thankyou julie for finding that one extra gypsy stamp set to add to my stash it was so me who could say no.....
heres the pics of my stash........

But wait theres more but i,ll leave that for my next blogging session
Time to go off and be creative with my Stash !

A little bit of what I do

My daughters request for her 21st Birthday, Repurposing unwanted furniture is so much fun love the dresser idea, a little costly for the vintage look but can be recreated using old desks as well.
I can see myself doing a lot of this in my furture (my other Job lol)
contact me if anyone wants me to repurpose anything for them just love it and I never turn down a challenge .

A quick note to let all know that I am a powertex and Stoneart trainer and will be starting up again   my mixed media sculptural class from my home studio again I will post pics and dates soon. They will be on either a Saturday or Sunday and take a full day to complete. Later this year I will also be doing my Masters training and I just can't wait one of my many hobbies.
Don't forget I also teach Scrapbooking at PhotoContinental and the majority of products I use on my layouts are available from Photo Continentals Craft store.
I,m also dabbling in a bit of beading, another creative medium to play with.
I will have a website that u can purchase my finished art pieace from soon. Now back to the creating............

Getting back to my Blog

How to make a rosette

Found this fantastic link on making rosettes with the Martha Stewart scoreboard: one of my favourite tools. You can purchase a scoreboard at Photo Continental or pop in for a quick how-to demo.
I will be adding my next layout this weekend with plenty of rosettes.

Cheers for now,

Karen

2013 Prima design team call my 3 favourites

I decided to give my self a challenge and submit my application for the Prima 2013 design team call out.
these are the three main projects I submitted. I went Prima crazy....  and just loved it.
number one was my pastels page majority of the products used are Prima, so pretty

My second layout with body form which I used left over product on, is my favourite. I'll be placing the layout in a shadow box and displaying both of them in my Kitchen, I themed this one around the world of steam punk. and again lots of Prima products.

my tag was made using Collections products and the K is for Karen

and my third final pieace is my minimal page, In This one I made washi tape feathers my favourite new technique and added pearls and lots of Prima flowers and papers........

This was the tiniest rossette i've ever made, just watch the hotglue gun and those fingers! I will follow up with the instructions soon for the washi tape feathers...

Aren;t these the most beutiful flowers, I love using beads and wire and all those found objects on a layout just to finish them of...

Now to send my email and pics to Prima, fingers crossed!  I enjoy the challenge and either way I'll be creating more and more for u all ................
